Cookie policy
The short version
This site, on its own, uses no tracking or advertising cookies and no identifiers. The only third-party tool it may load is the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram), and only if you accept it in the small bar that appears when you arrive. Until you do, browsing alterweddings.mx leaves nothing in your browser but a note with your answer, so we don’t ask again.
The only exception
If you interact with our “book your wedding” invitation or form, the site sets one first-party, functional cookie named alter_agenda. Its only job is remembering whether you already saw the invitation (30 days), closed it (1 day) or already sent the form (180 days) — so we don’t show it to you again. Its value is literally one of those three words. It contains no personal data and no identifier, and it is never shared with anyone.
The site also uses your browser’s session storage for two small notes that vanish when you close the tab: one remembers you already saw the welcome animation, and one prevents your form from being submitted twice by accident.
Analytics without cookies
We measure visits with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host on our own server. It uses no cookies and collects only aggregate data (pages viewed, country, device type) — never your identity. Nothing is sent to advertising networks.
The Meta pixel — only if you accept it
We run ads on Instagram and Facebook, and the pixel is how we learn whether one of them brought someone here and to the booking form. If you accept, your browser loads a script from Meta that records the pages you view, whether you sent the form and whether you booked a call, and Meta may set its own cookies to recognise you as a user of its platforms. That processing is governed by Meta’s privacy policy. We never send it your name, your email or anything you write in the form. If you choose “only what’s needed”, none of this loads.
Bot protection
Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible anti-bot check. In normal use it sets no cookies (we verified this). Only if it detects suspicious activity may it ask for an extra verification, which is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
How to control this
You can delete cookies at any time from your browser settings. The site keeps working — at most, the booking invitation may greet you again. Your answer to the pixel bar is stored in your browser too: clears it, and the bar will ask again on the next page you load.
If this ever changes
If we ever integrate another tool that uses tracking cookies, we will update this page and ask for your consent before it loads. Not the other way around.
