Gus & Karla

A wedding that didn't want to look grand — it wanted to feel like theirs. Lace, linen and a hacienda full of warm light.

There was no wind, no grand gestures. There was home.

Gus and Karla didn't want a wedding that looked grand; they wanted one that felt like theirs. A hacienda of warm walls, lace and linen, family close by and the afternoon seeping slowly through the brick lattice. Our job was to stay out of the way.

The photos that feel most ours from that day aren't the kiss — they're the ones before it: a mother straightening her son's jacket, both their hands resting on the lace, an orange-juice toast where no one looked at the camera. There, where no one poses, lives what we came for.

Then came the vows, the room on its feet, a cheek resting with eyes closed. We documented without directing, waiting for the gestures that never repeat. Because a wedding isn't measured by what's seen: it's measured by what stays.
