They weren't the ones to break the news. Their dog did.
A white bandana with a phrase written on it: "My humans are getting married!". That's how the session opened, and that's how we understood what Paola and Carlos wanted their Save the Date to say: their story doesn't begin at the altar — it begins in a garden at sunset, with their whole family, dogs included.
We directed very little. They walked, they played, they dip-kissed until they almost fell, and the dogs wandered in and out of frame as what they are: part of the household. We stayed close, watching carefully, waiting for the slanted afternoon light — the kind that turns everything it touches to gold.
That afternoon became a 54-second film and a series of photographs that now announce their date. A Save the Date is not a formality before the wedding: it's the first chapter of a story worth telling in full.
